Vintage 1950s Black Straw Cartwheel Hat With White Gardenias 。This gorgeous black straw hat from the 1950s\' has a small, round crown surrounded by a very large and wide brim. There is a velour band around the crown, which cascades down from the back of the hat. There is a white fabric \"rose\" plus a large white ostrich feather attached to the center back, and projecting sideways, as photographed. There is an elastic band attached to the inside of the hat, plus 2 small combs at. the side (this is typical of the 1950s\'). Throughout the 1950s, ladies wore hats daily as a part of their attire as was a pair of gloves. To preserve its market, the millinery industry set about creating variety and extravagance. They were now touted as the essential accessory to complete the ensemble.
